The time has come for Coacha to head across the pond and into the US. With the success we couldn't have anticipated in the UK over the last few years, and the interest in Coacha from US clubs already, it's safe to say we're very excited. If you know anyone in the US looking for software for club management... you know where to send them.
We’ve had such a great response to the ‘Meet Our Team’ articles so far. A few of you have said how strange it feels seeing our faces after we’ve spoken so much with you over the last few months/years. And truthfully? We’ve loved sharing a bit more about ourselves.
This week we’re introducing Taylor, our Marketing Executive and Support Team Leader. Every single one of you will more than likely be familiar with Taylor by now. From your pre-signup research stages; to passing on super helpful Coacha tips; to taking your feedback/feature suggestions and filtering them to the rest of the team for the next update. Taylor is usually there every step of the way for you guys.
The Important Stuff
Tea or Coffee?: Either. But I’m 60% a tea person and 40% coffee.
How do you take your tea/coffee?: Milky with no sugar.
What did you want to be when you were younger?: When I was little I was actually determined that I was going to work in the local pound shop… but I spent most of my teenage years wanting to work in musical theatre.
An interesting fact about you?: I can accurately rap all 46 songs that make up Hamilton the musical…cool, I know…
What did you do before Coacha?: I grew up in South Wales and moved to train as a Nurse at University of Birmingham when I was 18. When I was in school, I was always in between studying Nursing and Marketing. A while after qualifying as a Nurse, I was missing using the creative side of my brain and decided to take a break from the profession which turned out to be the best thing I ever did. I went on to work in early years education and photography before I found Coacha and never looked back.
Do you have any hobbies?: If I’m not at the gym, theatre, running, listening to music or writing, I’m usually at home moving things around/cleaning. I’m a serial ‘potterer’.
Your favourite place to get away?: Rhossili is an all-time getaway favourite for me. The walks and views are stunning. I also love Tenby and Newquay. Basically anywhere with a beach.
What was it that initially attracted you to wanting to work at Coacha?: It was instantly apparent to me that Coacha’s Co-Founders had a strong sense of passion for wanting to make a difference to people’s lives in sport. Having a professional background in safeguarding/data protection training, Coacha’s focus on these areas really impressed me and once I knew more about the software, I instantly wanted to make others see how amazing it was.
The very important stuff
Are you interested in Sport yourself?: I personally don’t feel myself if I’m not doing some form of exercise. I run a lot, do weight training at the gym, love a bit of Wednesday Zumba and play Netball too. I played Netball for county when I was younger. I’m also a firm Wales supporter and love the rugby.
How has Coacha grown over the last few years?: I joined Coacha at a really exciting time, the idea had been born and it was in its first few years of development. Coacha has come a long way since then, especially with the launch of 2.0. I feel really privileged to have been a part of this development and it’s definitely grown close to my heart.
What’s the best thing about your position?: I would say the conversations I get to have with our lovely users. As silly as it sounds, I feel like I make new friends daily because I get to have conversations with some lovely people.
What’s your favourite part of your job?: This question is easy to answer. It’s being able to get feedback from our users and filter their suggestions into new feature updates. Meaning we’re constantly improving Coacha and making changes that make a difference. I’m constantly amazed at that.
What’s the least favourite part of your job?: Not being able to implement every single feature that a user requests. Unfortunately we have to work on a majority basis and if someone requests a feature which we feel wouldn’t benefit others, we can’t justify putting the resources into implementing it. Although we’d love to.
What are your ambitions for the future?: I’m keen to keep doing as we’re doing with regards to helping sports coaches cut back their admin time. I’m excited to help and watch Coacha develop further, specifically regarding helping clubs handle their safeguarding and GDPR processes more efficiently.
