As you may have gathered by how much we’ve been talking about GDPR recently, data security is more important now than it ever has been. Alongside safeguarding athletes and allowing instant access to their details, data security is a huge priority here at Coacha. Our aim is to help you keep your members’ details safe and secure. And while being able to update an existing subscription doesn’t sound much like a data security concern, that’s ultimately what it comes down to.

With many club owners and coaches working full-time jobs alongside their coaching commitments, we know that there can be limited time for club admin. This is one of the reasons we built Coacha in the first place; to take the pressure off people like you and give you more time to do what you love. We know that things can get busy and mistakes can be made. When you have so many members and so many different payments to organise, things can get confusing.

We love spending our days helping our lovely club owners with their queries. Every now and then, we speak to one of you with a question that we’ve not had before that gets our brains ticking, and it’s made us want to share how we resolved it in case another user has the same issue. For this reason, we’ve decided to do a weekly post with your questions answered. Coacha’s community has been involved in its development since the get-go and we want it to stay that way. This is why, on speaking to lots of our lovely subscribers over the past few months, we have been taking note of their opinions and thoughts and making a list of things we can do to improve ease of use for our club owners and coaches even more. In this article, we are going to look at the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) briefing ‘Text and email Messaging (April 2013)’ to see exactly what you can do to stay on the right side of safeguarding best practice. The CPSU’s briefing is very detailed and specific in setting out recommendations aimed not only at safeguard children, but also protecting coaches and their coaching team.
