Can you explain how the class booking feature works in your app for basketball?

The class booking and venue booking feature is among the key highlights of our app for basketball!

The way it works is that you can either book players through the app for basketball yourself, give access to your coaches, or even allow players to book into sessions, event and venues themselves.

If you want to put convenience on top of everything else (for both yourself and your players as well as coaches), then it’s best to let players book into sessions themselves by logging into the basketball app’s Member Portal. The other thing you want to do is make classes bookable for players through your basketball app. So, sit back and grab a nice cuppa as we quickly explain how to do this:

Find ‘Classes & Registers’ from your basketball app’s main Dashboard, and then choose ‘New Class/Event’. Fill in the required info regarding your class. Tick the box that says ‘People can book onto this class’. If only a certain number of booking slots or spaces in the class are available, you might want to enter the maximum class size.

Now, instead of clicking ‘Add members’, click ‘Create’ because you want players to be able to book into classes themselves. Once members start booking into classes using their Member Portal login for the basketball app, they’ll start appearing in the attendance registers, which can be accessed by pulling up the ‘Attendance Register’ sub-menu from the ‘Classes & Registers’ main menu on top.

Choose your filters in the basketball coach app and click ‘Go to this register’. Whenever a player books onto a session, you can monitor them here and mark them as “attended”. However, if they realise that they need to cancel their booking, then they can also cancel it via the Member Portal, which means they will no longer appear in the basketball coach app.

Now, to make classes bookable to begin with:

Go to ‘Classes & Registers’ from the main navigation bar, and check “Can people book onto this class?”

Choose the maximum class size and remember, there’s no need to add players, as they will added by your basketball team app the next time they log in to book a class.

If you want your players to pay for the class on a pay-as-you-go basis, then tick that option and add the price for your class. If, for some reason, you prefer to record a cash payment for the bookable class, simply hit the ‘pay’ tab under that respective player’s name and you’re all set.

You can even restrict member groups in your basketball team app, in case you want to limit what kind of players can book onto classes themselves – e.g. underage players who can only be booked in by their parents or NOKs or those who rank higher than others in terms of seniority or, say, skill and experience level.

How does the Member Portal feature work in my basketball team management app?

We’re excited to make this feature absolutely free for everyone in our basketball team management app, as it isn’t included with most basketball coaching apps within the subscription price! However, before your players can take advantage of it, you must first set up their logins.

To do this, first log into Coacha – the best basketball app – by entering your login details here. This will take you to the main Dashboard, and as Admin, you can set all of the Portal’s features here to allow your players to conveniently book classes and more, straight from their “best basketball app”!

Now, you can either set up player logins for the Member Portal individually, in one go, or selectively by making player groups.

Head to People from the main Dashboard, then Your Members, and then View Profile. Choose the player for whom you want to set up a password. Underneath their personal information, there’s an ‘Allow login’ tick box. Check that and set their password.

To mass assign everyone in your club with a password, head to ‘Your Members’ from the main Dashboard and then click ‘Set member logins’. The ‘Send to Everyone’ box will already be ticked, making your job easier!

To send passwords to a specific group or class only, untick the above box and then choose the appropriate group/class name from the dropdown menu, click ‘Add’ and then ‘Send Login Request’.

That’s it! Your players (or their parents/NOKs) will receive an email notification and follow the included instructions to login to the Member Portal.
